Adrian Mole is damn funny!

I discovered Sue Towsend's Adrian Mole when I was 15 and studying English on my own at The British Council in Bucharest.
The first diary I thought was brilliant. So through the years I read and collected all her books.
Sue Townsend has that typical British humor that one'd think is contagious.

Now I am reading her latest book "The woman who went to bed for an year", is not about Adrian though, but it is funny, satirical and deep.
I love reading Towsend's novels! Everyone should!

“I don't know why women are so mad about flowers. Personally, they leave me cold. I prefer trees.”
Sue Townsend, The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole

"You may be wondering why I, Adrian Mole, a provincial intellectual working in a library and Sharon Botts, a provincial dullard, working in a laundry are having a relationship. The answer is, sex. I have grown to be rather keen on it and find it difficult to stop doing it now I've started." (A.Mole)

“Adrian Mole's father was so angry that so many pepole got divorced nowadays. HE had been unhappilly married for 30 years, why should everybody else get away?”
Sue Townsend

“Now I know I am an intellectual. I saw Malcolm Muggeridge on the television last night, and I understood nearly every word. It all adds up. A bad home, poor diet, not liking punk. I think I will join the library and see what happens.”
Sue Townsend

“There's only one thing more boring than listening to other people's dreams, and that's listening to their problems.”
Sue Townsend, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4

"I occasionally glance through my early diaries and mourn for my lost innocence, for at the age of thirteen and three quarters, I thought it was sufficient to just have a life. I honestly didn't know that you can't just have a life. You have to have a lifestyle." (A.Mole)

Maybe I was wrong in...

.. writing a stop card about quality of the food on the rig ?
I was "advised" by my fellow mate to write a card (we are supposed to write, depending on the Drilling Company, safety cards) about the food (if I had issued and was not happy about ...)

I repeat: That was My opinion!

So, when I went to have luch today (at 00:00, as I am on night shift till tomorrow), the night chef (No Gordon Ramsey or ANYTHING alike!) looked a bit...how should I put it?..."Nasty" maybe. So I instantly thought he knew that I wrote that card ( although was supposed to be confidential, buggers!).
I felt a bit sorry for him (if he knew)...but that was just my opinion, plus I am the weird one, not  used with eating British food all my life and it takes ages (if) to get used with it (crap food).

I would suggest to the British Nation to come and see how  people cook in Europe and what delicious food they eat.

Hristos a Inviat!

Miffy

I developed a great deal of interest for the funny Dutch Bunny toy, called Miffy. Its inventor, Dick Bruna by surprise, when telling stories on a rainy day to his kids, started speaking about a bunny and her adventures.
Then it became famous.

I bought several Miffys for freinds' kids, maybe I should have one for myself, I adore the little white ones.

So...it all comes down to Money !!!

Sadly, that' s the conclusion! I had a few discussions with fellow rig workers and apparently nobody like doing their offshore job.

The Latvian mechanic said he doesn't like the job offshore but he can't find a job decently paid in Latvia.
The same with my mate from Poland, he said that he just turned down a good job onland Poland because it was less paid than our current job, and his wife stays at home taking care of their kids, otherwise if he was working "home", she should also need to find a job...

Even the Brits hate their offshore job, but they continue doing it just for the sake of good money...I just hear it over and over again, everytime we don't drill or aren't that busy "it' s easy money"...I disagree.

Need Some Inspiring Quotes About ...Terrible, Awful & Bad Jobs?

"Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him"
- Aldous Huxley

"Oh, You hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar."
 Drew Carey
